I went to my family reunion this weekend. It was held at the Prothro Center near Pottsboro, TX, on Lake Texoma. I had lots of fun getting caught up with extended family and winning one of our traditional games of Spoons.
Very nice facility...this is the view from our room!
When I got home, I went over to Tammie's blog and found two of my second cousins pictured here and here! Cracks me up how small this world is. I guess they all go to the same church.
Also, my grandmother's extention of the family is in charge of hosting the reunion next year. It's plannin' time! So far, I plan to have a huge bubble-blowin' contest. That's all I got so far. Any suggestions?

Hey Cousin Joan,
I will deny whatever you put on the Lamberth website!! It is sooo funny that you know Tammie Shelton. She was my oldest son's (Blake) 4th grade teacher. She also goes to Heritage Church of Christ in Keller with me and Tami Freeman (Lamberth).
When did you graduate from Harding? I had a couple of friends that went to school there right around the same time that you did.
I hope you DO have a bubble blowing contest next year...I plan on winning!!

I haven't seen Tammie (F) Shelton since 1986 when she and her sister were my 5th grade campers! We were reunited earlier this year when she posted an "Ode to Iron Springs" on her blog. I think she is planning our camp reunion...
I went to Harding 86-87 and then again 94-97.
Please send me any suggestions that you might have for next year's LFR!
So wierd how small this world is! I don't think Tammie's seen this yet. I'll call her. Love the Ghana pictures. I hope to go one day.
Hi Joan! You were a rockin' counselor! No...you did not scare me with any stories. But you did French braid my hair so I could impress a boy that had no clue I existed:). Many great memories from that year at Iron Springs! Looks like you are still showing Christ's love to His children!
Joan,
Do you remember Sara Parker? She was a 4th grader when you were a counselor. She is a 1st cousin on my mom's side of the family.
I think we need to have a mandatory Spoons tournament at LFR 2007. We can play by ages, then have the winners play each other. We need to have some kind of cool Spoons trophy that can go home with the winner until the next LFR.
Sorry to say, but I don't think I do! I might if I saw her photo.
Yes, a LFR Spoons Tournament is definitely on the agenda! I don't think you were in the game that I won. Oh well. You wouldn't have won anyway. :)
That's cool that you know Steve E and Amy W!
How cool is that! Of all the bloggers on Tami's site, 2 are your cousins.
Who did she know at Harding?
Oh, FYI- I think Kevin Land (DR. Land) was on the radio Sunday morning doing a talk show. It sounded like him and I had heard he was a doctor now. if so, we are officially old if he is old enough to be an expert on medical "stuff" blood in-particular...
